There is one principal in the practice:

Andre Hess Andre Hess BVSc BA(Hons) MRCVS qualified from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1985, where he won the Swiss Federal Scholarship to continue his studies at the Eidgenoessische Forschungsanstalt fuer Milchwirtschaft. Everybody agrees that Andre has a unique understanding of what the pet-owner wants, and has a natural way with animals. People travel from far-afield to see Andre.
Andre owns several Norfolk Terriers and is the Chairman of the Norfolk Terrier Club of Great Britain, and Breed Health Coordinator for the Kennel Club.

All of our nurses are valued members of staff and work well as a team:

Shelly Long is our very capable Head Nurse. Apart from being very busy at work she also has 3 cats, at one time kept chickens, and is a serious cyclist. Shelly is our in-house cat behaviourist.

Rhian McLoughlin is our Senior Nurse, having joined us at the end of 2021. She has vast dog handling experience, including showing dogs (and has won Best of Breed at CRUFTS with her Pharaoh Hound Phreddie). Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her horses.

Natalie Long has worked at this practice for many years. She has owned many cats and dogs and her other interests include music. She loves to spend time walking dogs with her family. (Natalie has 1 dog, 2 cats and guinea pigs).

Michelle Davis  works part-time in the practice, and does much of the book-keeping and paper-work. (Michelle owns dogs and cats)

Richard Harle is a veterinary biosciences graduate, and owner of two very vocal Bengals. Richard started with our practice while he was still at school

Gail and sue have officially retired, but you'll still see them around the practice from time-to-time.

Gail Hornby has been with us for longer than many can remember, and has experience with a range of exotics. (Gail has kept a range of animals, including emus, rheas and wallabies along with several rescue tortoises).

Sue Shelley is one of our part-time nurses, and is available to answer your queries and give advice.
